The Polar Bear Crisis

It was more than a decade since I last visited the Singapore Zoo. I can still vividly remember watching Inuka swimming in the deep pool of an enclosed area. The first thing in my mind, what was this polar bear doing down here? Aren't it supposed to be hunting seals on sea ice at the Arctic region? Basically, it seemed so out of place in this tropical zoo. Another thing which I had noticed, its sad expression and the yearning for freedom!

Alot of times, human beings make tonnes of selfish and unscrupulous decisions just to satisfy their curious desire. Anyway, I am glad that the Singapore Zoo has decided not to import any Arctic animals in the future.

Polar bears could be extinct in 100 years if climate change continues to melt the North Pole's ice. The ice serve as a reflective suface of the sun's heat and it is melting at an incredible speed of 10% each year. Without the sea ice, polar bears are unable to float on it and find food. The most recent scientific report says that all arctic ice could have disappeared completely by the summer of 2070. With no ice, there will be no polar bears!

好久没到动物园去啦。


还记得小时后，到动物园时，
见大大的北极熊, 跳入水里。
真的好开心！
总好想和它一起在水里游泳，玩水。
但我只能在玻璃窗外看着它。


小时的我, 不了解。。。
大了的我，受了教育后,
终于明白了。。


北极熊也有自己的家乡，
它是属于北极的。
不属于我的热代国家。


它应该在北极，
自由自在，
地生存着。


如果气候继续软化，北极的冰块继续熔化，
北极熊可能很快就要绝种了。


没了大大的冰块，就不能反射太阳的热能了。
大大的冰块,  正在以难以置信的速度熔化中呐!


最近地科学报告说，所有北极冰可能在
2070年，夏天，前完全地消失。
